Representing the Claimant: Stephen Baker
In this claim, Stephen acted on behalf of a pedestrian who was struck by a motorist.  Liability was initially denied on behalf of the Defendant, on the basis that our client should effectively not have been walking in the road without looking.

 The matter was successful at trial, but was then appealed to the Court of Appeal, where we succeeded in maintaining the judgment secured at trial.  We secured a substantial award on behalf of our client in this case

Motor Insurance Bureau (MIB) claims,

 Neil recently recovered £125,000 compensation from the Motor Insurers’ Bureau in a case where the client suffered serious head injuries and could not remember how the accident occurred, and the driver of the other vehicle left the scene of the accident and could not be traced. 

In another case Neil secured £275,000 from the Motor Insurers’ Bureau in a case where the client’s step father lost control of the vehicle in which she was a passenger sustaining serious multiple injuries - the Motor Insurers’ Bureau initially rejected payment of compensation on the basis that the client knew the vehicle was uninsured.

This claim involved the client being injured due to her losing control of her vehicle, which skidded because of ice on the road.  It was said that the ice was present due to water running onto the road from a defective drain, this having frozen. 

This was a difficult case, with liability being denied throughout, and which was to be contested by us to a trial.  However, the claim settled shortly before the date fixed for the commencement of the trial, with the Defendant Council paying a significant sum as compensation.

Our client sustained injuries in a road traffic accident when his vehicle was hit from behind.  During the case treatment was organized for our client and he received treatment at a residential course. The case then went on to the Court of Appeal where our client obtained substantial compensation.

In this case our client was injured in a road traffic accident.  As a result of the legal case treatment was arranged for him and he received successful treatment allowing him to return to his normal life and return to work. Our client also went on to obtain substantial compensation.
